I hadz a friend!

I gots to meet a new friend. His name is Frodo. He's a boy dog. I never gots to meet very many boy dogs before.



Frodo needed a place to spend da night, so he came to my house. We played and gots petted and had dinner. I wanted to try some of his dinner, but my people wouldn't let me cuz I has to eat special fuds.

Frodo spent da night all night in my house, den his mommy came and got him and I hope he has lots of fun and plays and maybe I'll see him again.

new cousin

We have a new cousin in our family. This is Dahlia, and she's a cat. She lives with Gryphie and Romie at the cat house, way up in the north woods, where I gets to go visit sometimes.

gots a car!

Wail it's been a long time since my last post, but I been busy wif my walkies and naps and stuff. But you guys won't believe what I gots! It came today in a big brown truck.


Yep! I gots my own blue car. So I can drive all around town, and when I gets my own money I'm goin to buy donuts. I've never had donuts but I'm pretty sure I would like em because I've never had my own blue car before and it's cool.

Before I get to go fur a walk, I hafta get Kyle to follow me through da whole house and get my leash. Here's how I do it.

getting my leash

I keep my leash in the hall by the front door. If you want, I can show you right where it is. I like to go nuts on my leash when I hear it click on my harness.


We'll go out as soon as I'm finished.

Barking

I really like to bark. I can tell people just exactly what we should do for fun.

whats up wif me

Wail, I'm at Kyle's house today, fur a visit. My Mama and Dad are shoppin' so I'm over here hangin' out wif da computers. Too many computers here fur a little dog. Maybe big dogs need computers - I don't know - but not me. I just don't think they're very much fun, compared to goin' fur a walk or attackin a squeaky toy. But I guess I mostly like comin to Kyle's house anyway. He always members to bring my afternoon treat.

Last week I got to fur a long car ride wif da whole famly. We went to a really big city, and I got to meet a new vet. She was a nice lady, an' she kissed me on my head and listened to my heart. It's mostly tickin OK, so I'm mostly OK wif my heart, as long as I take my medsin and don't get stressed. So don't be comin around here tryin to get my chicken dinner or my toys, 'cause I would have to bite off your leg, which would probly make me stressed.

miracle dog

Wail, I habn't been here to blog fur you lately. It's been a long time. It's Kyo's fault. I gots the time on my paws fur doin' it, doG knows.

I had to go to the vet yesterday, 'cause I've had diarrhea fur a few daze. Wail, the vet gave me some medsin for that and she was talking to my people about me and you know what? She said I'm a miracle dog. When I got heart disease, they didn't think I'd still be around, bein' Happy, this long. But I've been doing good. I hardly ever cough anymore, an' I like to eat and play and go outside, and go fur rides in Kyo's truck. So I'm a miracle! Better believe it!

happy visits

Hi. A few daze ago, I got to visit Kyle at his house and lay on his couch. It was pretty fun, 'cept he didn't have any cookies, but we had an apple. I wuv a good crunchy apple! Tomorrow, I get to visit agin, 'cuz a man is comin' to my house to spray it fur fleas. I don't wuv fleas.

Today I can't go out and play, cuz dere's a big fire over the hills and our town is all full of smoke and ashes. Not good fur me.

Oh doG it's too hot! It's really hot here, and they have all the fans in the house on, and I'm still panting like a little steam engine going up a long hill. And I cant even take off my furry PJs. Somebuddy turn down da heat, or I'm gonna start biting everybuddy dat moves.

Dis is not good fur my health. I'm onna lotta medications, ya know. Wanna see how many? Look at dis. Too much fur such a wittle dog.

Want to see a video of me barking at Kyle? Here it is. Kyle took it today, out on the deck. He was having lunch and I was getting happysnacks, so I barked and barked!

I'm doing OK. I take my medicine. It's hot, but I find cool places to sleep in the house, and in the shade under my favorite bush.

check up day

Wail, today was the day I had to go to the vet fur my checkup. I've been to da vets a lot lately, I tell you what. It's only been 3 days since my bath, and 4 days since the hospital, and my last checkup on Monday.

Dad and Kyle took me downtown this afternoon when it was nice and warm. I got really excited when we got there, and I coughed a lot. There were dogs and people and even cats! But I was OK. We went to wait in a little room, and we had to wait a long time, because the vet was pretty busy taking care of dogs and cats.

The vet said my heart is working good, and my pulse is good, and my lungs are clear. Which is all good news. I don't have to take quite so much of the medicine that makes me drink lots of water and pee a lot too. And I don't hafta go back to the vets for 3 or 4 weeks, unless I get sick or I need a bath. I probly will need a bath, 'cause I likes to go out in the grass in the sun and roll around, getting dirty. I know you do too.

hard rode

Wail folks, I feel like I been rode hard and put up wet. That's a horse thing and I'm not a horse I'm a dog, but I know what it's like.

I got really sick night befur last. I couldn't breathe good and I was so weak, like a baby bird except not hungry either. Kyle had to take me to the hospital -- in the middle of the night, when I'm supposed to be sleepin'!

They took blood outta me - Ow! - and took pictures of my insides, and den. Yer not gonna believe this poop. They put me inna cage. Like when I get a bath, but this cage was a plastic box with air comin in. They left me in there all night, and Kyle came and brought me a toy. And he petted me through a hole in da box, and I tried to get out through it, but only my head would go. And Kyle left my toy and went away and came back -- a long time later -- and brought me home.

So I'm home now and I feel better. I can breathe pretty good. I had some breakfast. Kyle says we gotta go see the vet pretty soon. If he leaves me there again, I'm gonna bite him good.

what a trick

Kyle played a trick on me tonight, you guys. See, I haven't been eatin' my dinner really good lately, 'cause I knows there's better stuff - people stuff - in the frigerator. So I get all picky, like a cat does, and people give me some of their stuff. Then I don't need all of mine.

One of my faverit things is baloney. Another is cottage cheese. If I don't eat my food, sometimes they put a little CC or little pieces of loney on the top. I eat it off, and a little of my food, and I'm done.

The trick Kyle pulled on me was to put the baloney on the bottom. He put it on the bottom under my food, an' I had to eat all my food to get to it! What kinda trick is that!? Inyway, my tummy is full and I'm ready to take a good nap, after I get my medsin, in little pieces of cheese. I love cheese!

makin it squeek

Kyo came over early dis morning and took me fur a walk. It was just a weely little walk, which wasn't enuf fur me, but whats a dog ta do. I still gots to smell a lot of stuff. He came over again later in da day, and took movies of me playin wif my tugger. I love my tugger. It belonged to Tasha, and I'm pretty good at pawlayin wif it and makin it squeek.

the truth

is that us dogs don't live long enough. If we lived as long as you humans, maybe we could skip playin' and walkies some days. Maybe we could learn what a grudge is and how to hold one for a while. We could go fur days and longer than that, wifout tellin' somebody, "I love you."

Time is very short, if you only live 10 years, or fifteen. If you start feelin' old, just when you get good at run running though the grass, and just when you figure out what the world smells like.

No time to waste. Love is for today. Tomorrow, well we don't have the promise of that. That's what my first Person used to say.

My friend Missi went to da Bridge today. She was a good girl, like me. She loved and was loved, like me, every day.

She had a very wonderful mommy and daddy, furry brothers and sisters, and a real dog's life. If I couldn't have the pack I life with, I'd wish for her pack, with all my little heart.





And that's the truth.

Wail, dere fur a while, it lookt like I might not get my walk. But Kyle finally showed up to take me. And since it was rainy, I gots to wear my rain coat, which I weely like. Dey tell me it's blue, but I can't see it too good once I get it on me.

I had a good walk, took a poop, and sniffed some stuff. When we got home, I got a cracker. Not a bad time at all.
